Tour Plan

Day 1

Start your day tour from Aswan with a 3.5 hours ride from your accommodation in Aswan to Abu Simbel. Upon arrival, our local tour guide will lead you through the temple, sharing stories about Ramses II and Nefertari. After the tour, enjoy lunch before heading back to your accommodation in Aswan.

(lunch)
  • Visit Abu Simbel temple

Visit Abu Simbel, where huge statues of Ramses II and Nefertari are carved into the cliffs along the Nile River. These temples are incredible examples of the power and skill of ancient Egypt.

What makes the Abu Simbel temple special is the way it lines up with the sun. Twice a year, on February 22nd and October 22nd, sunlight shines deep into the temple and lights up the statues of Ramses II and the gods. These two dates are believed to be the most important moments in Ramses II's life; his birthday and his coronation day. This amazing event, called the Solar Alignment, is another testament of the ancient Egyptians' skills in architecture.

As you stand in front of the giant statues at the entrance, take in the incredible details. Inside, you’ll find halls decorated with colorful carvings and pictures. These show stories of battles, devotion, and the gods, giving you a glimpse into the rich history of ancient Egypt.
